Chens Crop - Science Bangladesh
Limited, a sister concern of Multimode Group is established in the year 2000
for servicing the farmers of the country in respect of pest management. At
present, CCSBL is operating with 16 products and 10 more products waiting to
launch soon involving 550 dealers & 8000 retailers and widens its
activities throughout the country by utilizing the present LTSL (Lal
Teer Seed Ltd.) market
infrastructure/network. Present product lines are Store grain product,
Insecticides, Fungicides, Herbicides, and Miticides. The Company has achieved a
positive growth year after year in the pesticide business and more growth is expected
in the coming Years as some more wings are going to launch shortly like -
Bio-pesticides, Micronutrient Fertilizers, PGR, Public Health Products, etc.
Chens
Crop Science Ltd. has been involved to import of pesticides. In Bangladesh
there is a huge market for pesticides specially used in the Agriculture sector. Chens
Crop Science Bangladesh Ltd. has been entered the pesticide business since
2001 with the collaboration of United Phosphorus Ltd. and projecting a good
market response in the future.
In
Bangladesh agriculture contributes to around 22% of our national income and
about 62% of the population of Bangladesh is employed in the agricultural
sector. Higher agricultural productivity is an important component of rural
development, raising farm income, reducing poverty, and making agricultural
products more competitive in the global market. Improved seed production and
delivery system are very important for the agricultural development of Bangladesh.
Lal
Teer Seed Ltd., our sole business is an international standard vegetable seed producing
company in Bangladesh fully backed up by Research and Developed (R&D) wing
which is the first private initiative for the development of hybrid seed
production. Having close observation of the various economic factors and the trend of Socioeconomic demand & Consumption, we like to take the opportunity
to contribute to the development of the country's agro production as well as to the
food security & nutrition for mass people through competent Research &
Development process. The company is involved in vegetable and cereal seeds
development, production & marketing; as well as committed to sustainable
agriculture development through innovative research and disseminating farming
technology and knowledge to farmers.
As
a part of a strategic change of the company, North South Seed Ltd. (NSSL), a a sister company of Lal Teer Seed Ltd. has taken over its production activities.
All the production activities till receiving the seed at the central storage at
Chandpara, Bashon Sarak, Gazipur Sadar, Gazipur are conducted. As well it also
imports hybrid yielding seed from different countries. Its sister company Lal
Teer Seed Ltd. takes over 100% of the seeds produced and imported by North
South Seed Ltd to store in an international standard storage facility until
seeds are processed, packed, and marketed through our well-trained distributors,
dealers, sub-dealers, and selected retailers throughout the country and also to
the international market by its own brand ‘Lal Teer Bheej’ and this brand name
is popularly known to farmers.
CCSBL business unit supplies agro- chemical products and related items primarily to
regional and national quick-service chains and to regional and national
retailers. CCSBL supports its product sales with employee training programs and
technical support designed to meet the needs of its customers.
Both
CCSBL & Lal Teer business and its seed retail business utilize a corporate
account sales force, which establishes relationships and negotiates contracts
with farmers at the corporate stakeholders; we are marketing agrochemicals
and household pesticides. The company has also received ISO 14001:2004
certification for the Environment Management System. The company’s primary
business is seed marketing and distribution of imported plant protection
chemicals and household pesticides.
We take pride in providing
agricultural services that meet the specific needs of the farmers. We currently
farm for clients both sustainably and organically. We have a short chain of
command and control which gives us the ability to execute practices in a timely
manner. All of our efforts are driven by the determination to provide the
highest quality of pesticide, at reasonable rates, to allow our farmers to grow
the finest premium crops.
